Weekend inspiration...

Have a lovely weekend everyone whatever it is you are up to. I've just forced myself out to bed to go and meet some friends for breakfast. Very long and tiring week! Going to spend the rest of my weekend doing some bits and pieces and reading a first draft of a book my very clever friend has written. Have a great one and thanks for stopping by G&G this week :)

This week's love...

...ok so there are two this week. First up, the new edition of Rue is live here. If you are suffering through the southern hemisphere winter, all the summery goodness in this latest edition will warm your soul, trust me!

And the second is the fantastic new online shopping concept from the super-talented Anna Spiro. I'm sure many of you are already all over this, but if you haven't heard about it get over here and check it out! It's a unique and clever concept where you can find gorgeous vintage and limited edition pieces that you can hand pick from the seasonal vignette. Naturally I've already made my first purchase which I will definitely show you soon...

The perfect dressing room...

I don't know about you but getting ready for a big night out at my place usually involves trying to shove hubby out the way of the bathroom mirror in order to get a mere peek to do my makeup! So naturally the concept of a dressing room appeals to me very much. All that room to swan around in, arrange your precious items, kick back and relax whilst the nail polish dries...wouldn't it be lovely?!

Big Aussie moment...

Proud Aussies everywhere are calling for a public holiday after Cadel Evans became the first Australian ever to win the Tour de France. Don't think our PM will be persuaded but huge effort and so good to see all that hard work finally pay off. The only bike I ride is a stationary one at the gym but the combination of Cadel's big win and these pretties may sway me...

A stylish Brooklyn abode...

These painted chevron drawers are a real focal point in this great little Brooklyn apartment designed by the very talented Nick Olsen. I think there is so much skill involved in furnishing a small space well and separating the spaces so there is some division between inter-joining rooms. This apartment has so many little features yet it doesn't look cramped or overdone. And of course the colour palette used is gorgeous too!

Colour competence...

I thought this was cute, and apt in our household. Hubby declares himself to be blue/green deficient. I declare him to also be purple/blue deficient as he is forever telling me the Cadbury wrapper is blue not purple!

Weekend inspiration...

Despite the continuance of freezing, awful weather here in Melbourne, I'm determined to have a bit of colour and fun in my weekend! Kicked it off last night with a trip to the movies where we watched the final Harry Potter. Loved it of course but a little sad that we're at the end.... A few other fun outings planned and as hubby is on holidays at the moment, the house is spotless and not a second of my precious weekend time will need to be spent on housework! Gotta love that :)

Forget the catwalks, the street style surrounding the Paris couture shows is an event in itself! If I were in Paris right now, I'd be perched on a bench somewhere in couture territory watching it all unfold - best seat in the house...

 ps. If I were a Missoni, I too would don some fabulous leopard skin pants with killer heels....

SJP in Vogue

SJP is one of my all time favourites so was excited to see her and her gorgeous family in the latest US Vogue. How beautiful are these photos by Mario Testino?! You can see more at Vogue here. She looks amazing - as does the rest of her clan. What a perfectly styled mess...
