Merry Christmas!

I thought I'd end the year on a high with some bright and sparkly Christmas inspiration! It really is my favourite time of the year :)

A big thank you to all of you who have supported my little blogging venture this year. I am both humbled and amazed that so many of you drop past to see what's going on at G&G. And for those who've left their thoughts and comments along the way, a very big thanks. I love to hear what you think and have enjoyed interacting with my new blogging friends :) G&G has provided me with an important creative outlet and I hope to have many more beautiful, colourful and stylish things to share with you in 2012!

I'll be back in early Jan but in the meantime have a safe and wonderful Christmas break!

This week's love...

Well today I am loving the fact that it's my last day of work for the year! Hurrah! Second to that, this week's love is my latest ebay win - a vintage brass pineapple ice bucket from the 1960's! Sounds a tad strange but I'm in love and have been after one for a while. And I got this one for a steal which makes it even more fun :)

And in my pineapple sourcing web travels, I also stumbled across the stunning home of So Haute blogger Nicole Gibbons. A girl after my own heart for sure...

Light and wreaths...

I love this idea of putting big Christmas wreaths in the window with the natural light streaming in behind them. I love both these rooms I spotted over at Lonny. The first for its great colour scheme - oh to have a turquoise wall - and the second for that fabulous desk. I know there's a proper name for this style of desk, I just can't recall it!

Only a couple of days to go now! Not sure if I'm more excited about Christmas or the fact that I'll get to sleep in a bit for a couple of weeks!

Wednesday's white rooms...

The last of the white rooms for 2011! I have had so many favourites since starting the feature a few months back. I'm hoping next year's rooms will be even better :) This week's rooms have just a dash of Christmas cheer...

A year in Street Style

There has been such an abundance of great street style around in 2011 - so what better way to round out the year than with a few favourite shots...

I think if I had to choose one, Olivia Palermo would be my style icon. She just always gets it right in my book :) She now has a style blog too if you're a fan and haven't checked it out.

Let's hope colour remains a strong trend for 2012!

Every girl's dream...

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Something fun to kick off the last week before the Christmas break!

Imagine waking on Christmas morning to find this?! I think I'd faint. My sister (who loooves the Tiff's) definitely would. Perhaps the only thing better would be a sprinkling or orange boxes too :)

Weekend inspiration...

Happy weekend all! Whether it be Christmas shopping, frolicking in the sunshine or fun Christmas time events, have a great one! This weekend, amongst the home reno activities, we are off to our favourite restaurant for a lovely Christmas dinner with a fabulous friend. We do it every year and it is one of my favourite Christmas traditions.

This week's love...

This week I am loving the divine silk scarves and illustrations by Sweden's Kristina Hultkrantz. The scarves are brimming with bright colours and have an Hermes like quality to my eye! And the illustrations are just so pretty. You can get your hands on both at Kristina's etsy store here.

And in other fun news, I was lucky enough to receive the Liebster award from two lovely blogging friends - Brooke at The House of Chambers & Anna at My Design Ethos. Thanks so much ladies!

Chair envy...

A great occasional chair can really jazz up a space, particularly a home office. They are an easy way to add colour and texture. Whilst these are probably not the most ergonomically sound choices, I love each of them! And when teamed with a fabulous lamp and a scattering of books and accessories - perfect :)

Hubby is restoring a vintage dining chair at the moment. I'm trying to decide on paint colour and fabric choice...I'm so indecisive. Will be sure to show you when it's done though :)

This week's white room's are elegant, stylish and sophisticated. Lots of classic details, shiny surfaces and little touches of colour. And I'll take that lucite coffee table thanks....

A tree and some cupcakes...

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Here are just a few snippets from mine. Saturday morning I made these cute cupcakes for a lovely friend's baby shower. It was very warm here and our aircon decided to have a meltdown so it was a bit of a challenge getting the icing to set properly. Anyhow, thankfully they managed to stay in one piece through the day...

And I also managed to get my Christmas tree up! We were going to get a real one but we thought the fake one would be a bit easier to move around whilst we're painting and doing our little reno projects. Not as nice as a real one but I still loved decorating it! This year I opted for all my pretty silver and glass ornaments with some neon bows made of fabric strips for some colour. I think Christmas is definitely a time to have fun with colour!

And here's a tip for the fashion lovers amongst you - go and see the documentary playing at the moment 'Bill Cunningham's New York'. It's about the life of the famous NY Times street style photographer. I saw it over the weekend and loved it. One of those really extraordinary, inspiring stories :)
