London calling...

So Olympic fever has firmly set in at our place. We got up at the crack of dawn on Saturday to watch the opening ceremony - well worth it, and hubby and a good friend spent hours on Friday night discussing (and quite seriously too!) which sport they could take up and train for for the next 4 years to secure their spot in the next Olympics. They remain undecided so we'll see how that one pans out...

The other thing I'm loving about the Olympic coverage (on the 9 Olympic channels we have going on right now!) is how fabulously London is being showcased. It looks amazing and I'm sure it must be such a great time to be there. Is anyone else in the grips of Olympic fever??

Trend - Floral pants...

So celebs like Olivia and Miranda make it all look very easy and even dare to mix patterns but I'm wondering whether this trend will be so easy for the mere mortals amongst us? For one thing, I'm thinking you need some pretty good legs to pull this one off and plenty of daring. I love the look in theory but not sure I could pull it off. What do you think? Would you give it a go?? 

Or if the pants are not your number maybe just opt for a pretty top instead?...and plenty of jewels

Wednesday's white rooms...

So this week's white rooms are stark white with some serious brights. The thing I love about this sort of colour scheme is that you can add some real fun to a space but as the colour is largely restricted to accessories, if you get a bit sick of any one shade, just swap around some accessories for a whole new look...

So I'm back...

So after a couple of weeks of R&R and time away from the online world, I'm back. I find the middle of the year the perfect time to retreat for some downtime. I get a little tired and need to recharge the batteries! I spent a little time down the coast. Does anyone else love going to the beach in winter? It's quiet and the air is so fresh and crisp. And I must say, the open fire helped too. We read magazines and ate delicious food. It's funny how quickly you can get into relax mode when the surrounds are right! Oh I also started Sarah Wilson's 8 week plan for quitting sugar. Check it out here if you're interested. So far so good but if I get a little incoherent in the coming weeks, you'll know why :)

Wednesday's white rooms

Some seriously good lighting choices star in this week's white rooms.

First up, this low hanging bronze number is a real focal point and adds plenty of glam factor to this stylish kitchen...

This chandelier is quite elaborate but fits perfectly in this luxurious dressing room...

These transparent pendants compliment the many wonderful elements in this beautiful kitchen...

And this last one adds an element of intricacy and interest to this traditional kitchen. The cabinetry hardware and lucite chairs are pretty great too...

Light and bright bedroom...

I think it was the floral rug that caught my eye about this cute bedroom. It really anchors the room and turns what would otherwise be a lovely but simple space into something with wow factor. And of course a pair of hunter boots adds a little something extra to any shot...
